What is the Pupil Premium?
The pupil premium is extra money paid to schools by the government to help disadvantaged children achieve more in education. It is given to schools according to the number of pupils who have been:
- registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
- been in care for 6 months or longer
- or have parents in the Armed Forces
In the academic year 2017-18, the pupil premium is worth £935 per eligible secondary-aged student.
How have we used the Pupil Premium Funding?
As this money enables us to make significant improvements in the education we offer at Silverdale School, we strongly encourage all eligible parents to register. Please see the Pupil Premium report for 2016-17 (which can be downloaded from this page) for details. It also contains information about our plans for the current academic year.
Our Progress 8 score for disadvantaged students for 2016-17 is -0.02.
How can I register?
The only way to register for the pupil premium is to register for free school meals on the Sheffield City Council website. Parents and carers of students please click here to apply for free school meals.
